Version 4.0.x of the Smart Com Remote Diagnostics is a major upgrade from previous versions. It now uses a Microsoft SQL Server Database and Java Web Server.

As a result, there are two different download options available. The "Full" version includes the SQL Server and Java installers built-in, which means it is a very large download (162 MB). The "Web app only" version contains only the Remote Diagnostics installer (32.5 MB).

You will only have to install the "Full" version once. Subsequent upgrades can be performed using the "web app only" version, as you will already have Java and the MS SQL Server Database engine installed.

Determining Web Server Version

1. Open the Remote Diagnostic Web Server.
2. Click the "About" link (top right-hand corner of page).
3. The following page will be displayed. This page shows both the Web Server software and DRX firmware versions.

Please note that the DRX and Web Server must be configured for proper communications to determine the DRX firmware version from the Web Server interface.
